She had been taking ballet classes since she was 5 years old. 18 years- That’s how long she had been doing ballet. It was a beauty to watch her dance, the way she moved, so swiftly, so elegantly like a symphony. She didn’t want anything else than to be a professional ballet dancer. It was as if she had dedicated her life to ballet. Her parents were doctors but for her dance was her life and she wanted to make it her career. Her teachers said that ballet was in her veins, when she danced no one could take their eyes off her.

It was a warm summer morning. The sun was shining bright. It was the day she had been eagerly waiting for her whole life. Yet she was very anxious today. She kept rehearsing again and again in her bedroom. Today, she had to give an audition for the best dance school in the country. She knew there would be better dancers than her. She might not get into this dance school and this is something she dreaded the most. She was trembling with fear but nonetheless she kept rehearsing.

She was standing at the stage. She had never been so nervous for a performance but this was different. This was the her golden opportunity. She didn’t want to let go of this opportunity.

“Please start with your performance”, one of the judges said.

She took a deep breath and let her anxieties go. She started with her favorite ballet routine. She danced with all her heart, like she had never danced before. She gave all her spirit and heart to those 4 minutes. And then the music stopped and the judges had to announce their decision. She knew she would never regret even if they rejected her because this was the best moment of her life. The best dance she had ever danced.

All the three judges stood up in amazement. One of them said,” There is melody in the way you move, in the way you dance”.
